Reflections of Peace at Greenwich University Exhibition
| Kelly Salambasis
More2Nurseries has a strong mutual partnership with the Early Years Team at Greenwich University. It results in placements at our nurseries for Early Years Degree Students, attending conferences and sharing best practice. During the latter part of 2024, we were invited to be one of three Early Years providers to contribute to an exhibition.
On Tuesday, January 28th, we had the privilege of attending the launch of the Greenwich University Holocaust Memorial Exhibition, marking 80 years with the theme "For a Better Future." Kelly Salambasis (Director) and Kerry Lewington (Room Leader at More2Childcare) were present at the event, where we were honoured to showcase some of our pre-school children’s artwork.
Their contributions were added to an installed tree and their decorated stones too, represented their personal interpretations of what peace means. Our work and approach were also featured as part of the exhibition. The evening included moving and thought-provoking presentations, including one from the grandson of a Holocaust survivor, as well as reflections from an author who has extensively written on anti-Semitism.
The "International Holocaust Memorial Day – For a Better Future" exhibition is open to the public and free to visit, running from January 27th to February 19th, 2025. It is located at the Heritage Gallery, Queen Anne Court, University of Greenwich. This impactful exhibition offers a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance, understanding, and hope for a better future.
