Funding

Funding at More2Childcare, More2Riverside & More2Kidbrooke – 2025/26

Families can reduce childcare costs through government-funded schemes.

From September 2025, working parents of children aged 9 months to 4 years may be eligible for 30 Funded Hours (for Working Parents) over 38 weeks of the year (1,140 hours).

  • Available from the term after your child turns 9 months (1 September, 1 January, or 1 April).

Eligibility requirements:
✔ Both parents (or a sole parent in a single-parent household) must earn the equivalent of at least 16 hours per week at National Living Wage (approx. £12.21/hr) for the next 3 months. Eligibility is reconfirmed every 3 months.
✔ Self-employed parents, those on zero-hour contracts, and parents on maternity leave are eligible.
❌ Families where either parent earns over £100,000/year are not eligible.
❌ Parents studying or training without meeting income criteria are not eligible.

Check your eligibility at: www.beststartinlife.gov.uk

You must provide the nursery with your 11-digit eligibility code and reconfirm it every 3 months. This is a family responsibility. If the code is not provided or reconfirmed on time, the nursery cannot claim the funding, and full private fees will apply.

  • Available to all children from the term after they turn 3, regardless of parental income.
  • Some families may also qualify for the Together for 2s programme (15 hours per week, over 38 weeks). This is based on income and other eligibility criteria

The funded hours scheme is a welcome support for families but it does not cover the full cost of childcare.

  1. Term-Time Only
Funding covers 38 weeks a year (school terms, 9am–3pm). More2 is open 50 weeks, so this equates to:
  • 30 hours funding = 22 hours 48 minutes per week
  • 15 hours funding = 11 hours 24 minutes per week

A minimum standard booking at More2 is 3 full days per week, including a Monday and/or Friday.

  1. Funding Rates
The hourly rate does not fully cover the actual cost of delivering high-quality childcare, particularly for 3–4 year olds.
  2. Limited Coverage
Funding does not cover meals, consumables, or additional activities.

We have a minimum 3-day booking policy. Since funded hours do not cover all costs, nurseries are permitted to charge for extras — but these must be voluntary. At More2, we ensure every child enjoys the same enriching experiences, so we apply charges fairly across all families.

What funding does not cover:
❌ Meals and snacks
❌ Extra activities (Spanish, Forest School, Gardening, STEAM, Baking, Yoga)
❌ Nappies and creams (parents supply)
❌ Trips and outings
❌ Festivals and celebration days

Charges by age:

To ensure every child is treated equally, without discrimination, children are included in all activities during their dedicated hours at nursery. Therefore, More2 has set a rate card price which includes the extras across an average day at More2.The extras are itemised on your monthly invoice and increase slightly for the older children who have larger appetites and require more resources for activities.

Under 3s on 30 hours have a food cost only and no charges for additional activities.

NB this may change in future years if the government hourly rates of funding do not increase sufficiently to cover our costs.

Option 1: Fees Contract

  • Minimum 3 days, 8am–6pm
  • Funding is stretched across 50 weeks and deducted from monthly fees
  • Extra hours charged at standard rates
  • All meals and chargeable extras included but separated out on your invoice

Option 2: Funded Hours Only Contract

  • No extra hours can be booked
  • Set funded hours patterns only (cannot be changed):
  • 15 hours (over 3s):
  • More2Childcare: term time, 9–12 or 1–4, 5 days per week
  • More2Riverside: 50 weeks of the year. 1 day 9–4.36 and 1 day 9–12.48 (Mon and/or Fri)
  • More2Kidbrooke: 50 weeks of the year 8:12–12 or 12:12–4, 3 days per week incl. Mon and/or Fri
  • 30 hours (over 3s and under 3s): 3 days (must include Mon and/or Fri), 9–4:36 only
  • Together for 2s: 15 hours free of charge (no extras applied)

⚠️ Please note:

  • This is not a pick and mix package — you cannot add selected nursery meals or choose only some extras.
  • Meals are not included — parents must provide food (please ask for our food-from-home policy).Children must have breakfast at home before coming to nursery.

  • Parents are billed in 12 equal monthly instalments, so invoices are the same each month.
