More2 Children Walk 1,001 Metres

| Posted by Kelly Salambasis

On 11 June, children, families and staff from across More2 Nurseries in Greenwich and Kidbrooke, came together for a sponsored charity walk in support of our partner charity, MumsAid.

Each child took part in a carefully designed 1,001 metre walk, representing the first 1,001 days of life – from pregnancy through to a child’s second birthday. This period is widely recognised as one of the most critical stages in a child’s development, laying the foundations for lifelong health, wellbeing, and learning.

The event reflects the More2 commitment to supporting early years development across our Greenwich nursery and Kidbrooke nursery settings, where physical development, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyle habits are embedded within daily practice. Children are encouraged to be active, build resilience, and develop confidence through purposeful movement and outdoor learning.

Through the generosity of families, staff, and the wider community, the event has raised over £1,200 and continues to grow, with all funds supporting MumsAid’s vital work with mothers and families during pregnancy and the early years.

The sponsored walk also highlighted the importance of the first 1,001 days in Greenwich and Kidbrooke communities, raising awareness of how early support can have a lasting impact on children’s futures.

More2 Nurseries would like to thank everyone who took part, donated, and supported the event.
